Program Overview

We offer Adult Basic Education classes from beginning literacy through GED throughout the year.

  • Day classes: Monday through Thursday 9:00am-2:00pm
  • Evening classes: Tuesday and Thursday 5:00pm-7:00pm
  • Saturday classes: 9:00am-12:30pm
  • Friday computer class: 9:00am-12:00noon
  • Saturday computer class: 9:00am-12:00noon
  • Open computer lab access: Monday and Wednesday 2:15-4:15pm and Tuesday and Thursday 5:00-7:00pm

Other available choices include WorkSmart, a Job Readiness program, resume writing, job placement and follow-up program through Goodwill Industries of Central Maryland. We also have elective courses and some one-on-one tutoring.

Regular attendance is expected of all learners. Those who miss four or more classes in any one cycle will be dropped from the program until such time as they have corrected whatever is causing their absences.

Offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Prices

Classes are free except as follows:

GED: $25 per cycle (non-refundable)
Windows '98: $25 per cycle (non-refundable), $80 for general public (9 weeks-6 hours per week, Mon-Thur) or (9 weeks-3 hours per week on Fridays)

Other Activities

Volunteer Friday - An opportunity for learners to give back to the community

Opportunity Fairs - Health, jobs, college, skills training

Clubs - Chess, book, film (depending on student interest)

Town Hall Meetings - An opportunity for learners to have input into program content and procedures
